Much of the work for this inquiry will be completed individually.
However, at the end of the inquiry, you will be asked to make a short video about the endangered animal that you have chosen. You will work in pairs for this task. Before you make your video, your pair will also need to choose and research an endangered animal,
When you make your video:
One of you will be an ecologist. An ecologist is a scientist who studies ecosystems. An ecologist looks at the different animals that live in an ecosystem, how they behave and their numbers. An ecologist might also be involved in educating the local community about environmental issues such as endangered animals.
One of you will be a reporter. A reporter would explain the background information of a story. A reporter would also ask the ecologist questions about the endangered animal including why it is endangered and how its numbers could be increased.
If your class has an odd number of students, there will be one group pf three. The third person could be in charge of the filming and recording.
We will need a roughly even number of students in each role.
If your last name starts with an A-M you are an ecologist.
If your last name starts with a N-Z you are a reporter.
